Agronomist Badal Chandra Biswas joined as Director General of Agriculture Extension on December 29, 2022. Before this he was working as director of surface wing of this department.

Agronomist Badal Chandra Biswas is a 10th batch officer of BCS (Agriculture) cadre. He started his career on December 11, 1991 as a content officer in Shivchar, Madaripur. Then he worked in Sirajganj, Rajshahi, Barguna, Khulna, Satkhira and Jessore districts. He served as the Chief Instructor at the Farmers Training Institute. Also, he made outstanding contribution in the field of agriculture by performing various important duties at the field level. Enriched with this experience of working in diverse agricultural regions of the country, he successfully served as Additional Director (Monitoring) in Surface Wing, Directorate of Agriculture Extension, Khamarbari, Dhaka and later as Director of the same wing. Farmer Badal Chandra Biswas was born in September 1964 in the house of Mr. Niranjan Biswas and Rani Biswas in Ujani village of Maksudpur upazila of Gopalganj district. He passed SSC in 1979 from Bashbaria Ujani Kashalia High School and HSC in 1981 from Government Nazimuddin University College, Madaripur. He obtained his B.Sc Agriculture (Honours) from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh in 1987 and his Master’s Degree in Agriculture with First Class from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University. During his educational life he was involved in various cultural activities including Udichi, sports hall, debate organization. He is a skilled organizer. He participated in numerous national and international seminars, workshops and training programs during his career.
